Classroom Computer Climate Index (CCCI)

The classroom computer climate is calculated on the basis of a 3 page survey form which is completed by the participating class teachers towards the end of the school year. The forms are read automatically and processed to generate three CCCI sub-scores: attributable to the

  • teacher
  • students and
  • school infrastructure

These are combined to calculate the total CCCI for the class.

The technique appears to be useful for classes where each of these components is generally unchanged for the majority of the school year. We are struggling to find a way to adapt the CCCI for secondary education where many changes occur on a daily basis for most students. Longitudinal studies may be able to use some of this latter data.
