7 Steps Process

The project has identified 7 steps to improving teaching and learning through the use of ICT

The Seven Steps development process

1. Starting Out (theoretical underpinnings - finding out your starting point)

2. Agreeing Outcomes

  • The current reality: What's working, what's not and what else is possible?
  • Base line measurements: get data
  • Criteria for success: What is possible, desirable and feasible?**

3. Identifying the constraints

  • About constraints
  • Identifying constraints
  • The change process

4. Action Learning

  • Knowledge-based improvement: focus and investigate
  • Reflecting on experience & prior knowledge

5. PL for embedding ICT in the class program

6. Sharing outcomes (and practices)

  • Identifying achievements
  • Celebrations and sharing
  • Transferring and embedding

7. Future improvement projects (and transformative potential)

  • Apply the Seven Step process
  • Possible projects

**Dealing with the future:

  • What is possible and under what conditions?
  • What is desirable and why?
  • What is feasible, how and when?
