The role of the teacher in an action learning approach to pedagogy is to

the learning activities of the learner.

The teacher may choose to use the available technology to provide some of the scaffolding. Examples,

  • some teachers use concept or mind mapping software such as Kidspiration with the class to plan the learning activities to be undertaken

  • similarly templates may provide a useful starting point (scaffolding) for a particular publishing and communication activity

  • in a more extensive activity the interaction around the activity can progress without having to change the technology or even the document concerned.  Software that is used to plan a learning activity may well become a tool used in managing and completing the activity as well as presenting the outcomes to others.
