The opportunities provided by the teachers, classes and schools that participate in this research project are so valuable.

They represent something of a unique opportunity to gather original, and perhaps unique, insights into the implications of incorporating ICT into class programs directly from those currently in the field.

To this end I will be sharing these 'lessons' through this website as we proceed.

Please check back regularly to find what has been added recently.

And please feel free to communicate supporting or counter examples and to bring clarity and explanation to what may be just intuition at the stage it was originally shared.

An example: one lesson re groups:

ICT is often done in groups (or batches) but the quality of the learning experience tends to decline as the batches progress. Contributing factors include...
- Greater time between being introduced to the task and actually undertaking the task for the later groups
- Most competent students are also most likely to seek to be first (confident, keen…)
- First groups are likely to get the best deal, eg, more support and supervision
- Increased likelihood of subsequent tasks overtaking or distracting from the original task
- This makes it difficult for all groups to complete an ICT task to a good level
