More information ...

A second kind of alignment involves consideration of the major elements under investigation in this research project that are part of teaching and learning

  • (Action) Learning
  • Teaching as designing and mediating learning
  • Knowledge, experience & insight
  • Technology
  • Activities
  • Products

This kind of alignment needs to attend to features such as

  • Styles & preferences (teaching, learning & information)

  • Content (knowledge)

  • Ways and means (resources, processes...)

  • Outcomes (learning, experiences, costs, benefits...)

Alignment is purposeful and therefore related to values => Qualities of class program

  • Learning is the process of making sense and meaning from available actions knowledge, insights, and experiences
  • Products are the things created by the actions and activities
  • Experiences are so important because
    • they may be available for future learning = 'aha' ! !!
    • they may be available to challenge, supplement or complement present learning
  • Mediation is the processes by which thinking and awareness are enhanced and utilised leading to ...
  • Increased awareness of actions and experiences, thoughts (questioning insight) and available knowledge

Action Learning (more):

    Action/Experience -> Questioning Insight -> Programmed Knowledge

Mediation: increased consciousness of inner and outer experiences and processes

    Experience(M) -> Elaboration(M) -> Output(M) ->

Knowledge tetrad (Popper):

    Problem -> Tentative Theory -> Eliminate errors -> New Challenge
