The Al Bunny Typing Tutor can be used for work undertaken in Information Technology. Essentially the typing tutor is used to help young children to become familar with the keyboard. The Al Bunny typing tutor could be related to 'Sytems' in level One of the Technolgy profiles for schools in Australia. Through the use of the typing tutor the children will be able to become familar with the workings of a computer and indentify the use for eaxh part of the machine. i.e. The use of the Keyboard, monitor, mouse and disk drive.

The Al Bunny tutor can be related to off-computer activities in a number of ways. The use of the tuotr can be related to spelling and children could be encouraged to word process their spelling lists on the computer while trying to use typing techniques given in Al Bunny. Also children could be asked to write a story about a computer and themselves, and then asked to put illustrations to the story.

In summary, Al Bunny can be related to:

*Spelling

*Creative Writing

*Art

There are also quite a number a number of computer related activities that can be used with Al Bunny's Typing Class. Children should be encoraged to use the word processor as much as possible to improve on their typing skills. Also, you could encourage students that are at a high level of understanding to search the web to find other similar typing games or educational games which could then be downloaded.

Computer Related Activities:

*Word Processing

*Other Educational Games

*Web-Browsing

There are a number of options that can be used when it comes to the classroom management of Al Bunny. As the software does not have to be based around a whole unit of work and is essentially a game, the use of the program should be short and fulfilling for the student. You could use the game as an incentive for children who have completed work efficently and have spare time to play. I would let 2 children use the computer at a time and they have the option of competing against each or against the computer. (If the first option is chosen it is important to have children of approximately the same level to avoid dissolusionment.) Children should use the program for no longer than 10 to 15 minutes at a time to avoid frustration, this makes the learning condensed and very effective in a short space of time.
