ABOUT US

Robyn Grade-Wright

Dr Robyn Glade-Wright

I value the opportunity to work with others to participate in creating a world that we want to live in. This involves respect for other living beings and purposely attempting to make a contribution to the world which transcends personal edification. I value working in an expressive manner and communicating with others through my art work. The Memorial  project provides a tangible means of working collaboratively with many people to raise awareness of the annual extinction rate.

I am currently the course coordinator of Design and Technology Education at the University of Tasmania, were I teach foundation design studies and textile design. My artwork is represented by the Launceston gallery, twofourtwo.

It is my belief that we are global citizens who can collectively shape a more positive future that has led me to the Memorial project. I respect the right to life of all entities, and share the concerns of others about sustaining healthy ecosystems. For me Memorial is a way of taking action about ideals that underscore who I am, and of linking with people worldwide who feel affinity with the issue of species loss.

I am a lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the University of Tasmania. My particular teaching and research interests are in the areas of Global Education and Languages teaching methodology.

I am an Art Administration student assisting with sponsorship and arranging touring opportunities for Memorial: the silence of extinction.

Memorial: the silence of extinction provides a wonderful way for individuals and communities to consider the personal impacts of extinction and is such a visually and emotionally impressive work of art. Through the website and by touring the completed work I hope that many more people will become aware of the fragility of life on our planet and will consider action they can take to protect it.
